The body has several enzyme systems that scavenge for free radicals. The main micronutrient or vitamin antioxidants are vitamin E, beta-carotene, and vitamin C. Selenium, a trace metal that is required for proper function of one of the body's antioxidant enzyme systems, is sometimes included in this category. When mixed with water, the clay's expanded particles are able to pick up many times their own weight in body toxins. Clay platelets with a negative electrical charge, have an atttraction to positively charged toxins. This clay has drawing power that is unsurpassed by any other known clay. We use Bentonite in soap free cleansing products, masques and bath salt blends for the above mentioned amazing therapeutic health benefits - in these applications, the product is then rinsed away with water leaving skin only the benefits. Coenzyme Q10 prevents damage to the collagen and elastin production process thereby helping the skin avoid the creation of wrinkles as well as treating existing ones.

GHK-Cu Copper Peptide - Combined with glycosaminoglycans (GAG’s) , it is called GHK-Cu Copper Peptide, created by Dr. Loren Pickart. When we have a skin injury, our bodies gather copper ions - create copper peptides. The copper peptides accumulate and protect the skin. They trigger the immune system, telling it that skin needs repair. They tell the body to remove scar tissue and replace it with normal skin. Copper peptides stimulate the production of new proteins including collagen and elastin to give the skin strength and elasticity,as well as other proteins and molecules such as proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) that bind large amounts of water to moisturize the skin. They stimulate angiogenesis - new capillary formation - to reestablish new blood vessels to nourish and oxygenate the newly repaired skin. Calms redness and irritation, smoothes roughness, reduces spots and photodamage, improves h air growth and thickness, accelerates wound healing, tightens loose skin, increases elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Potent cancer preventative, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, and arrest the growth of cancer in subjects with genetic predisposition for the disease. In a nine year study of cervical cancer patients, Ellagic Acid icaused G-arrest within 48 hours (inhibiting and stopping mitosis-cancer cell division), and apoptosis (normal cell death) within 72 hours for breast, pancreas, esophageal, skin, colon and prostate cancer cells. inhibit tumor growth caused by carcinogens. Another study found that Ellagic Acid protected mice against chromosome damage from radiation therapy. It was also effective at inhibiting tumor growth from esophageal cancer cells in mice. Ellagic Acid clinical tests on cultured human cells also show that Ellagic Acid prevents the destruction of the p53 gene by cancer cells. Another study found it prevented UV sun damage.

Without enough fats in the cell membranes, they are not able to retain water and they lose their plumpness.

Free Radicals - Atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons that can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction. They do damage to our bodies when they react with important cellular components such as DNA, or the cell membranes. Cells function poorly or die when this happens. Free Radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that can attack normal cells, destroying them or causing them to mutate which can be a precursor to cancer. To prevent free radical damage the body has a defense system of antioxidants.

Glycerin has a rich oily texture but is water soluable, also helpful as an emulsifier to bind water and oil phases of formulas together and as a thickening agent.

Glycolic Acid - or hydroxyacetic acid is the smallest alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Glycolic acid can be isolated from natural sources including sugarcane, sugar beets, pineapple, canteloupe, and unripe grapes. The most active and beneficial form of alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid has amazing exfoliating properties. Popular sources of glycolic acid include the citric acid of lemon, orange and grapefruit extracts. Acting as a natural exfoliator, it scrapes away dead skin cells - eliminates the bacteria in the pores and controling acne inflammations and blemishes. It also opens up the pores, thereby improving the penetration of vitamins and minerals. Attracts moisture and helps with it's absorption as well, aiding in hydration and plumping. When it enters the cell, it stimulates the formation of new collagen and triggers off the synthesis process of dermal glycosaminoglycans. This plumps up the cells and causes reduction in wrinkles and fine lines. Skin becomes super smooth and supple.

Glucosomine - Works hand in hand with Chondroitin Sulfate. They are Glycosaminoglycans (GAG's) that bond with copper peptide and work wonders rebuilding the skin. N-acetyl glucosamine is a major portion of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid when occuring naturally is an important polysaccharide in our dermis that decreases with age. Used topically, Glucosomine is a skin plumper and moisturizing agent. Glucosomine feeds the body vital elements needed to maintain healthy skin - abundance, solid, and plump. Glucosamine is an amino sugar, the primary substance for the biosynthesis of proteoglycans such as chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic acid. Unprocessed honey was found to inhibit most of the fungi and bacteria causing surgical and wound infections.

Hyaluronic acid - Also callaed hyaluronan or hyaluronate. Hyaluronic Acid, glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate are also glycosaminoglycans (GAG's). They bond with copper peptide and have incredible anti-scar, wound healing, wrinkle diminishing benefits. Hyaluronic acid is found in connective, epithelial and neural tissues of the body. It is what gives the skin it's volume and fullness, nature's skin rejuvinator. Young skin is smooth and elastic and contains a large amount of hyaluronic acid that helps the skin look healthy. As we grow older, the ability of the skin to produce hyaluronic acid decreases and the amount of hyaluronic acid begins to fall. Since hyaluronic acid helps to bind water, the ability of the skin to retain water also declines with age. As a result, the skin becomes drier, thinner, and less able to restore itself - it then become looser, which leads to wrinkling and the older appearance of the skin.
